The Arlington Renegades have made a couple of moves after falling to 0-6. RB Devin Darrington, and DL Darrius Moragne have rejoined the team, having originally been cut during Training Camp.
#UFL notables from @UFL_PR's latest batch of news:
– @XFLRenegades re-sign Devin Darrington (what took so long?), but cut Chris Owens in the process
– @USFLStallions cut an injured JoJo Tillery…
– @XFLRoughnecks cut WR Isiah Hennie, one of the most electrifying players in the…

Devin Darrington returning to the backfield is excellent news. Darrington was a tremendous running back for the Orlando Guardians a season ago in the XFL. He was one of the top producers on that team.
Darrington posted 294 rushing yards and four touchdowns with Orlando in 2023. He’s a scoring machine when utilized, and was shockingly let go by the Renegades prior to the regular season beginning. Devin had been viewed as a potential breakout star in Arlington, and it was strange to see him released before week one.
Devin Darrington is having himself a GAME for the @XFLGuardians. His 43 yard TD run gives him two on the day, keeping Orlando alive.
With one quarter to play, can the Guardians find a way to win their first of the season? #XFL | @XFL2023pic.twitter.com/hyk4L70ZzQ

With Devin back in action, expect him to be put on the field sooner than later given his prior success.
Darrius Moragne has also re-signed. He’s a defensive lineman who hasn’t played since the 2022 USFL season with the Pittsburgh Maulers. Moragne was having a solid campaign that year, but it was cut short due to a severe leg injury.
Since then, he’s tried to regain his footing in the professional scene. Arlington had brought him to training camp, but Moragne was let go during the first set of cut downs.
Chris Owens Cut

In the process, the Arlington Renegades have released OG Chris Owens. Owens was a starter for the Seattle Sea Dragons in 2023, as one of the top blockers in the XFL.
Arlington picked him up this offseason. Chris only appeared in two games, dealing with injuries throughout the year. It’s unfortunate that Owens wasn’t able to stay healthy, since he was fantastic a season ago.
Dae Dae Hunter To IR
Dae Dae Hunter had one of the most unfortunate injuries in UFL history so far. Hunter was posting great numbers in this weekend’s game against Michigan, with four carries for 32 yards and a touchdown.
Dae Dae Hunter just went to the locker room with what is an apparent knee injury.
Tough break to get injured during the celebration of your first touchdown of the year. #UFL

Sadly, his score was the final touch of his UFL season. Dae Dae was injured during the celebration, coming down awkwardly on his knee. After limping to the locker room, Hunter will now hang it up for the rest of the year on injured reserve.
Final Thoughts
The Arlington Renegades have improved the roster with a couple of these signings – but it feels like too little, too late. One has to wonder how things could have gone if General Manager Rick Mueller, and Head Coach Bob Stoops kept a player like Darrington before the season began.
This week, they will look to pick up their first win of the year, against the Memphis Showboats.
