Injuries are brutal. For the San Antonio Brahmas, they can’t seem to catch a break. Starting QB Chase Garbers suffered an injury this weekend, and according to Sports Illustrated reporters Mike Mitchell and Anthony Miller, he’s out for the season.
BREAKING: Starting QB Chase Garbers is out for the season for the San Antonio Brahmas, per @uflsifn.
Garbers did not exit the game yesterday, and the injury is unknown. That said, as I exited the stadium yesterday, he was holding ice on wrist…wow. #UFL pic.twitter.com/Qdl43icSsf

While the extent of the injury is unknown, Sports Illustrated says that it happened in the late third quarter. With the little information we do know, we saw Chase outside the stadium post-game holding ice on his wrist/hand area.
It appears that he will be out for the season, although we’re also told that it hasn’t been confirmed quite yet that he’s officially done. That said, this is a major blow to the San Antonio Brahmas.

In his first professional start, @ChaseGarbers looked smooth and composed for the @XFLBrahmas. Fits A.J. Smith's offensive scheme perfectly. This San Antonio team is legit. #UFL pic.twitter.com/1NWR4Rlvn8

Garbers burst onto the scene in week one, leading the Brahmas to a 27-12 victory over the DC Defenders. He earned the starting job in Training Camp, and was seen as a tremendous asset to A.J. Smith’s offense, and what Smith wanted to accomplish.
Through three games, Chase Garbers has thrown for 586 yards and six touchdowns, tossing just one interception. He’s been efficient with the football, completing 70.8% of his passes.

While they did not get the win this weekend, one has to wonder if the injury affected Chase down the stretch of their loss against St. Louis.
Final Thoughts
Backing up Garbers is Quinten Dormady, formerly of the Orlando Guardians. He’s a proven professional who should be able to fill in well. They also have Tom Flacco at QB3 (now, QB2), and will likely bring in another prospect sooner than later.
As more makes itself known about this situation, we’ll be sure to keep the public updated.
